Chi Nei Tsang Level 2 'Chasing the Winds' at Healing Tao USA in Mars Hill North Carolina July 7 - 12 2017

Go  Here for more information and to register

‘Chasing the winds’ in Chi Nei Tsang level 2 is an advanced level of healing that encourages trapped winds (Qi) to release their grip on the body. We can move these stuck winds into balance to harmonize body, mind and spirit. Join us to learn this amazing practice as we explore the 12 winds and chase them back to health.

Over 2500 years ago, The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine cautioned:

The east wind arises in spring; its sickness is located in the liver and there are disturbances in
the throat and neck.

The south wind arises in summer; its sickness is located in the heart and there are
disturbances in the chest and ribs.

The west wind arises in fall;  its sickness is located in the lungs and disturbances arise at
the shoulders and the back.

The north wind arises in winter;  its sickness is located in the kidneys and disturbances arise
in the loins and thighs.

The center wind is from the earth; its sickness is located in the spleen and disturbances
arise in the spine.’

We’ll integrate new awareness of the 12 winds with Taoist five element theory and ancient techniques for balancing the flow of energies through the body. This powerful hands-on healing technique utilizes the five major systems of the body: vascular, lymphatic, nervous, muscular, and chi (Qi). These systems are connected to the abdominal center, where unreleased stress and tension may cause obstructions. Through simple manipulations of the abdominal area, we can release physical, emotional, and mental resistance that can cause illness.

Chi Nei Tsang level 1 Module 2
at Cayce Reilly School of Massage in Virginia Beach
September 16, 2017
Earth: Stomach/Spleen/Pancreas
Date:
Time: 9-5
In Chi Nei Tsang participants will learn basic techniques that encourage respiration, release tension in the fascia, and affect structure and function of organ systems including the skeletal-muscular system. Once structure is addressed, function can be restored. Ignoring the abdominal contents and structure negatively impacts the whole organism. By addressing these structures homeostasis can be restored. This class reviews the basic theory and concentrates on Stomach/Spleen/Pancreas meridians and abdominal contents and their relationship to the structure and function of the body as a whole.

Chi Nei Tsang level 1 Module 1
Two day class : TBA
Metal: Lung Large Intestine
Date:
Time: 9-5
In Chi Nei Tsang participants will learn basic techniques that encourage respiration, release tension in the fascia, and affect structure and function of organ systems including the skeletal-muscular system. In this two day class participants will learn and review basic Chi Nei Tsang techniques that affect the fascia of the body. Students will demonstrate understanding of relationship between fascia and structural dysfunction, both in abdominal organs and their relationship to musculoskeletal dysfunction.

This system of care provides techniques that assist toxin removal within the abdominal organs, balance fascial tensions that impact musculoskeletal structure and provide the massotherapist with tools to effectively communicate these concepts to their client. This method of massotherapy works within five major systems of the body and the acupuncture meridians.  With plenty of hands on practice students will be able to perform a basic abdominal detox  massage anchored in the lung/large intestine meridian set at the end of the class as well as identify patterns of tension in the fascia and explore techniques to release the patterns.
·       This two day class introduces an overview of Taoist 5 element theory and its practical application in western practice
·         Analyze and explore patterns of tension in the navel and their relationship to the Large Intestine.
·         Work within the quadrants of the abdominal cavity with an eye to which elemental force/ meridian/organ system is affected and how to address imbalances.
·         Learn and strengthen your communications skills with your client, guiding them thru the process. (in the clinical setting the practitioner becomes the instructor)
·        Anatomy of proper breath and its importance in overall health
·        Medical Chi Kung practice for practitioner and client to support the healing process
·        Specific touch techniques to elicit proper breath and client awareness
·        Exploration and review of contents of the abdominal cavity and its relationship to meridian system
·        Learn basic navel detox techniques
·      Plenty of hands on practice

Chi Kung is one of the most important aspects of traditional Chinese culture and medicine. In recent years, Qigong therapy has attracted more and more attention from modern medicine and science and is now widely applied in clinical settings to treat illness and promote well-being. This is relevant to massage therapy in that our focus is to promote well being as therapists. We also are charged to develop and promote wellness in ourselves so that we can aid others in that end.

The participant is encouraged to purchase Mantak Chia’s book: Chi Nei Tsang for a better understanding of the work covered.
